April 20, 2011 - Spring 2011 FIU College of Business Student Leadership Group (SLG) Awards Banquet

The Phoenician Investment Fund received a prestigious award at the first annual SLG awards banquet. PIF takes great pride in receiving this award because it was received in the same semester that PIF was created. In such a short amount of time, the Phoenician Investment Fund has already accomplished so much!

In the Spring of 2011, the College of Business’ Student Leadership Group (SLG), for the first time ever, organized an awards banquet for all business clubs and organizations. As an opportunity to network and reflect upon the past semester’s accomplishments, twelve (12) business organizations attended the event and a handful were awarded. Of the four (4) potential recipients for the award, Florida International University’s College of Business named the Phoenician Investment Fund as FIU’s “Most Promising Emerging Organization” for Spring 2011. The Phoenician Investment Fund (PIF) takes great pride in receiving this award because it received this award in its inaugural term. In such a short time, PIF had accomplished many unprecedented milestones and has set the bar for leadership in FIU finance. Among its several goals, PIF will continue to strive for excellence and leadership in finance and business.

The Phoenician Investment Fund would like to congratulate all business organizations for accomplishing so much for our university and its students. PIF would also like to give a special thanks to the inaugural president, Charles Chan, and a special thanks to the FIU Student Leadership Group for organizing the event and supporting our business organizations’ endeavors.
